What is WeditVideo?
What is WeditVideo and how does it work?
WeditVideo lets couples invite a small group of trusted guests to capture footage directly from their phones — no app download required. You create an event, add your guest team, and send personalized invite links. On the day, guests tap their link, open the camera in their browser, and start recording. Clips upload automatically to your dashboard, where you can view, organize, and download everything. One account supports multiple events, so you can use WeditVideo for your rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, wedding day, and more.
Is WeditVideo a replacement for a wedding videographer?
No — and it's not trying to be. WeditVideo is a complement to your professional video coverage. Your videographer captures the polished, edited film. WeditVideo captures everything else — the candid reactions, the behind-the-scenes moments, the footage from inside the guest tables and bridal suite that no single camera operator could ever get.
What kind of footage will I get?
Raw, unfiltered clips from the perspectives of people who were actually there. Think: your maid of honor's view of you walking down the aisle, your dad's reaction during the first dance, the chaos on the dance floor at midnight. Real moments, from real angles, that you would never have otherwise.
Can I use WeditVideo for events other than my wedding?
Yes — one WeditVideo account supports multiple events. Many couples use it for the rehearsal dinner, bachelorette or bachelor party, and the wedding day itself. Each event gets its own guest team, invite links, and dashboard. You pay per event and can add new events anytime from your account.
The Guest Experience
Do my guests need to download an app?
No. WeditVideo runs entirely in the browser. Guests tap their invite link, and they're ready to record — no App Store, no Google Play, no account creation required.
What if a guest isn't tech-savvy?
WeditVideo is designed specifically for non-technical users. The interface has one job: record a clip. If a guest can tap a link and open a camera, they can use WeditVideo. Most guests figure it out in under a minute.
What if there's no wifi or cell signal at the venue?
No problem. Clips save directly to the guest's device if there's no connection. As soon as they reconnect — whether that's at the reception, back at the hotel, or the next morning — everything uploads automatically to your dashboard. No clips are ever lost due to poor signal.
How many guests can I invite to my team?
That depends on your plan. Essentials gives you 3 guest recorders, Moments gives you 5, and Full Story gives you 7. We recommend choosing people who will be present, engaged, and spread across different parts of the venue throughout the day.
Is it video only, or can guests take photos too?
Currently WeditVideo focuses on video clips. This gives you the richest, most immersive footage from each guest's perspective.
The Couple Dashboard
When do I get access to the clips?
As soon as a guest's clip uploads, it appears in your dashboard in real time. You don't have to wait until after the event — you can check in during the day and watch clips as they come in.
How are clips organized?
Clips are organized by guest and by moment. When you set up your event, you can define moments you want captured — like the ceremony, cocktail hour, or first dance — and guests can tag their clips accordingly. Everything is labeled and easy to browse.
How long are my clips stored?
All plans include 30-day clip retention after your event closes. You'll receive a reminder before your clips expire so you have time to download everything.
Can I download everything?
Yes. You can download clips individually from your dashboard at any time during your retention period. Full Story plan couples also get automatic Dropbox delivery once the event closes — everything lands in your Dropbox folder without any manual downloading.
Privacy & Security
Who can see our footage?
Only you. Your dashboard is protected by your account login. Guests can only upload clips — they cannot browse, view, or access anyone else's footage.
Can guests see each other's clips?
No. Each guest's invite link only gives them access to their own recording experience. They cannot see what other guests have captured.
What happens to the footage after the retention period?
Clips are permanently deleted from WeditVideo's servers 30 days after your event closes. Make sure you download everything before then. We send reminder emails as your expiry date approaches.
Pricing
How much does WeditVideo cost?
WeditVideo is priced per event with a one-time payment — no subscriptions, no recurring fees. Plans start at $29 per event. You can run multiple events under a single account, each with its own guest team and dashboard. See the pricing page for all tiers and bundle options.
What's the difference between Essentials, Moments, and Full Story?
All three plans include browser-based recording, SMS and email invites, offline recording, a real-time dashboard, and 30-day clip retention. The difference is how many guest recorders you get: Essentials includes 3, Moments includes 5, and Full Story includes 7. Full Story also adds Dropbox auto-delivery once your event closes.
When do I pay?
You pay at signup when you select your plan. Once payment is complete you get instant access to your dashboard to set up your event, add guests, and get everything ready for the day.
Can I change or upgrade my plan after purchasing?
Please reach out to us before your event closes and we'll take care of it.
Getting Started
When should I set up my event?
We recommend setting up each event at least 2–3 weeks in advance. This gives your guests time to receive their invite, accept, and know what to expect. You can create all your events upfront — wedding, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette — and manage them from the same dashboard.
What do I need to get started?
Just create an account, add your first event, and invite your guests by name and phone number or email. The whole setup takes under 10 minutes. Once your account is set up, adding additional events — rehearsal dinner, bachelorette party, and more — takes just a few clicks.
What if I need help on the day?
Your guests can reach out via the link in their invite if anything isn't working. For couple-side issues, our support team is reachable by email.
